Estevan pharmacy celebrating ten years in Oak Bay, inclusion into the Medication Management Project and a Black Press award

Nov 15, 2010, Victoria B.C.- This November, Estevan Pharmacy is celebrating ten years of serving the Oak Bay community. The full-service community pharmacy that excels in women’s care and compounding is happy to announce this milestone and congratulate co-owner Lesley Blackman on receiving The Black Press Women in Business, Business Owner of the Year award.

For the owners of Estevan Pharmacy, Lesley and Andrew Blackman, this anniversary is particularly special, as they were recently selected by the B.C. government to participate in the Medication Management pilot project.

The Blackman’s are excited to be included in the Medication Management project- a government pilot project aimed at engaging B.C.’s pharmacists to assist in expanded patient care. The Medication Management project sets out to provide all British Columbians with systematic patient consultation, medication review, a customized care plan, and follow-up care.

The Blackman’s can scarcely believe it’s been a decade since they opened their doors and neither can the people who depend on Estevan Pharmacy each and every day. The community pharmacy goes the extra mile for its patients- from canker sores to flu shots, Estevan Pharmacy has established itself as the go-to resource for Oak Bay residents and is developing a reputation as an authority in women’s health   in Victoria, thanks to in-house women’s health specialist, Lynn Pollock. Lynn is a menopause expert, providing one-on-one consultation throughout the year to educate women on menopause and the resources available to help them though it- including compounding of bio-identical hormones.

To Lesley Blackman, “We are invested in every single patient that walks through our doors and go the distance to make sure they are well taken care of. Whether this means dropping off groceries to patients who are unable to leave their homes, or simply making sure everyone leaves with a smile- this is our mandate.”

On Saturday, November the 20th Estevan Pharmacy invites the local community to come celebrate this monumental year and enjoy cake and party favors from 11am to 2pm.
