Regency Medicine Centre (Richmond)

When Ron Gracan became a pharmacist 34 years ago, the big box pharmacies were in their infancy, but their anonymity ran contrary to his people-oriented personality. So when he went into business for himself, he gladly sacrificed huge volumes in favor of personalized service. Welcome to Regency Medicine Centre, which Gracan has been running successfully for 25 years. “My approach is that my store and my skills are an integral part of the community,” he says. “My customers are loyal because they know I’m always on hand to take care of them as if they were my family.”

At 1,600 square feet, Regency has enough products to satisfy everyone, but Gracan points out that people who walk through his door aren’t interested in buying greeting cards or food. Therefore, the products on his shelves are strictly related to health. Gracan also, when asked, supplies information and advice about each and every item customers intend to purchase. “They haven’t made the trip all the way here just for us to ring the cash registers,” he reasons. “Education is a crucial part of pharmacy sales.”

  • Medical supply rental
  • A select range of vitamins and supplements

Simply put, whatever a customer requires, Gracan and his staff strive to deliver. And although their services cover a wide range of needs, Gracan stresses that good communication with customers is at the heart of it all. “We do everything from treating serious illness to helping someone select the right kind of pain killer for sore muscles,” he says. “By getting to know our customers and interacting with them at every opportunity, the services we provide are tailored and very helpful.”
